Home to traditional and innovative Italian fare at the top end of Bourke St is one of Melbourne’s oldest dining and drinking institutions. Society, housed in a heritage 1880's building, is a multi-level venue that offers food, wine and cocktail lovers a feast for the palate as well as the eyes.

Saunter up one flight to the High Society Cocktail Bar, a vibrant art deco lounge featuring an impressive range of cocktails. A hand painted gold and black mural, inspired by trompe l'oeil master MC Escher, covers the walls and the ceiling is finished in gold leaf. Gilded mirrors and large windows with views to Bourke St create a fun and sophisticated atmosphere.

Secret Society, the upstairs Function Room, can cater to up to 80 guests in unique style. Designed by Christo Gillard, whose unmistakable style is stamped on some of Melbourne’s best venues, the room is lavishly adorned with parlour-like furnishings, rich reds, emerald greens, and silver leaf finishes. Glowing lamps and stunning Bourke St. views create an ambience somewhere between Marie Antoinette’s boudoir and Leonardo Da Vinci’s studio with a feature portrait of Mona Lisa (with a moustache) overlooking the proceedings.
