In the next few weeks, we'll be introducing PERSONALITY PROFILING to our matching system.

What is Profiling?

For people to get along well and have successful relationships they need to be similar in some areas of personality, but opposite in others. This understanding of personal relationships is enshrined in our everyday sayings, such as 'Birds of a Feather flock together' and 'Opposites Attract'!

Over the past few years I’ve gotten quite a number of requests asking for more information on personality profiling and how it might be a useful tool as we seek to improve the relationships we have.

Each of us is a unique individual with a set of characteristics (temperament traits) that influence how we will interact with the world around us. The qualities we look for, the traits we value and the way in which we relate to others, are all connected as parts of our personality. Whether we “click” with someone, and the relationship blossoms, or we “clash,” depends largely on the personality composition of each individual.

Many people may find the idea of personality typing offensive. Our society has struggled to drop any notion of stereotypes and as individuals, we have resisted attempts to be placed in pigeonholes. However, the concept of different personality types has been around for at least two to three thousand years. Ever since Hippocrates developed the “classic” model for explaining and predicting human behaviour, people have been developing systems to try to understand what makes us “tick.” It has been shown repeatedly that personality traits do seem to cluster. It has also been shown that groups of people, having these clustered traits, have certain overt and observable characteristics.

So what does all this mean?

Simple! - we'll be asking you some simple questions which will disclose which personality type you are. Then you'll be able to scan upcoming events to see which people (with what profiles) have booked into those events....it shouldn't encourage or prevent you from attending any events....but it will give you an insight into the makeup of each event.
